Board Game Conventions

This year some of us will be heading off to one or more Board Games Conventions. No longer will we need to fly to the USA for GenCon or to Germany for EssenSpiel. We have two UK conventions to look forwards to….

Board Game conventions are a great way of checking out new games, meeting other gamers, playing lots of games, and of course spending too much money on board games at the many, many stalls and marketplaces.

The UK Games Expo is now established as the premier board gaming event in the UK. Held at the NEC in Birmingham, it brings together publishers, designers, gamers, bloggers, vloggers, role players, and retailers for three days at the beginning of June. If you are new to board gaming this is a great way to find out more about the hobby, and to discover just how huge board gaming has become in the last twenty years.

New this year is Tabletop Gaming Live. This show, put together by the teams at Tabletop Gaming and Miniature Wargames magazines is set for September 2018.

‘The two-day event will take place on Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th 2018, meaning it’ll be the first place in the UK to see some of the hottest games revealed at Gen Con in mid-August, as well as your chance to play the most talked-about upcoming releases before Essen Spiel takes place in October. Not to mention that it won’t cost you an expensive flight to the US or Germany!’

If you are interesting in joining us at either of these event why not get in touch through email, or come along to one of our Wednesday Games Nights and find out more.
